Why should I have the garden designed?

Would you build a house without an architect? Similarly, to achieve a spectacular garden, thought and planning needs to have taken place so that the elements blend in and the scene produced is pleasant and awe inspiring. Why would you want any less than that?

The garden designer has the knowledge to mix and blend both hard and soft materials, ultimately benefiting the garden owner.

Even if the garden is constructed piecemeal over a period of time it should be held together by the design and the accompanying paper work so that the finished construction gels together well.
