Services and the Design Process
Award winning design services
The Studio can offer friendly advice to the client based on 30 yrs experience in Horticulture.
Scale plans can be drawn up, hand drawn, these can also be tinted up in colour for presentation. Water feature’s can have there own drawings as planting plans (including numbers, litres, size and where they go). Lighting plans, showing cable plans, fittings and lamp details. Where possible I like to use LED lamps.
3D impressions are drawn by hand by Deborah Hogarth and hand tinted in colour
Design Consultation with the Client
The initial consultation is free. The client is able to spend time chatting about the brief and what is important to them. The items that the brief needs to include, the planting feel, the features, and what they expect to feel about the garden. Then the design can be formulated on the client’s wishes.
Site Survey
The garden needs to be measured along with the building, including the gradients. This will be a separate visit. This gives us a good chance to get a feel for the garden and the wishes of the Client. We take photographs at this stage.
Presentation of the Drawings
On completion of the drawings we return to the client to present them. Provided the brief has been excelled we will then put the work out to tender. Should some aspects of the drawing need adjusting there would be one free re-draw for the Client. Beyond that an hourly rate would be charged for alterations.
Tenders
On agreement from the Client the contractors would tender the proposed work. Charles Hogarth, on behalf of the Client, can manage this process.
The Build
On choice of a contractor we can oversee the build as required, interpreting the plan to its fulfilment. The build may need input from the designer at various stages of the construction to see it through smoothly. This is charged for hourly.
